Leaving Your Photography as Found Art

There's a new story at JPG Magazine about a woman who leaves her photos as Found Art. It's simple enough to do through great companies like Moo.com and VistaPrint.com. Moo.com makes it easy to get several different pictures at one time. The pictures are small and can be slipped into all sort of places for people to find. Vista Print may be a little cheaper, and the images will be larger, though you'll get several copies of one single image. Both options are fun to think about and great ways to leave art and bring joy to others.

Art Stroll in Yellow Springs

The Yellow Springs Arts Council invites the public and local artists to create a street inspired artwork (2d or 3d) for their Street Art Themed Art Party on the night of Art Stroll (19th October). The work will be exhibited one night at the event then subsequently exhibited at the John Bryan Community Gallery for one month. There is no entry fee, work should be delivered at the time the event starts with name, address/phone number, title and price attached to the work.
There will be live music, video slideshow, small found art project (NOT found art as in objet trouvé, but art made with the intent to be found). Examples of found art can be seen here or here.

Anonymous writes "Here's an idea. Buy a tin of dominos. On the back of each domino using a Sharpy type permanent pen, write words like: Faith, Hope, Joy, Love, Peace, etc and add some embellishments like small drawings or stickers. Leave them at your usual places."

Give a leg up not a hand out!

The Idea -- leave found art objects with a positive, inspirational message of hope and perhaps a gift card, lottery ticket, article of clean clothing or decorated shoes - whatever we choose to use then we'll leave the found art objects near shelters in the city. Of course, it will bear the URL of this wonderful website!
If you would like to start a project for the homeless, just let us know!

Photographs left at Museum, Library, mall

bobby writes "I was busy today, leaving 3 original photographs in three locations locally. One taken with a "fish eye" view inside of an abandoned Portland Cement plant in Manitowoc, WI, one of a vine covered door at that same plant, and one of Fraisers "End of The Trail" statue located in Waupun, WI. All were original Black and White photographs, 4X5, 5X7 and 8X10. I also got an invitation from the museum to participate in a "show" later this Summer!
Yesterday I left a Photograph (8X10) at the local Holiday Inn motel
So far I have not had any response to my submissions but it is fun waiting!"
